I miss the days when we used to do snail mails. The excitement of finding that a letter has arrived for you in the mailbox. The perfume scented envelope. The hand printed address. And the letters itself of course - pages of composition filled with gossip or simply reportings of day to day stuff from one excited friend to another. An occasional doodle. A random sticker. It was all so fun and so personalized then. But all that has changed with technology. All these can now happen with simply a click of a mouse- thanks to the invention of email, facebook, friendster, twitter and whatnot. You would think that this should allow us to connect better but instead we have created a certain level of superficiality in the way we communicate. Type. Click. Send. Do people even give a thought to what they write anymore?
On my birthday, I received a collective message from a bunch of friends I care about with just two words "Happy Birthday!". That was it. Can the world get any lazier than that? It is just too sad. But there is no turning back now, is there?

i used to receive postcards adn lettres from ghana, spain, australia, berlin, etc ... but not anymore because both had stopped sending =(
i love postcards
I used to have loads and loads of snailmail pals all around the world, and it was so nice to both receive and wrote those long, lovely letters. Nowadays it just seems almost impossible to sit down and write and very few people seem to be willing to make that effort, it's (just like you say) so much easier to use facebook or write a short mail. In a way tecnology is good, because it allows us to keep in touch with more people but you are right when you say that our communication has become much more superficial. But there is still hope, we just need to fight :D
Sorry about the almost-essay, and happy easter!!!
I remember passing notes in junior high! Nowadays, it's just twitter, facebook, etc. Not the same.
But technology does make things easier, faster, cheaper.
Haha..i used to pass notes in my secondary school days and junior college too! It was so much fun! lol.
Technology is a wonderful thing. I just wish people would put in a little more effort in what they write these days! sigh.
